July 15, 2008 7:14 amAs I sit here and write to you about chiropractic and, more recently, all of the things that can slowly hurt your spine or back I’ve realized something. Sitting here, in this chair, my back starts to hurt, and I shift around quite a bit trying to find a more comfortable position so that the pain goes away. Then it hit me, all this time I’ve been writing about how little things affect our health and lives and here is this chair every day driving my back/spine nuts!
If you find yourself to be someone who sits in a chair/office all day you probably feel the same way and know what I’m talking about. For those of you that are contained in an office for eight hours a day for five days a week then there are some things that you need to take into consideration. The first thing being that you may want to start seeing a chiropractor. Why? Because you can start to counterattack the damage that is happening to your spine through chiropractic visits. The second thing that I would recommend doing is taking note of your posture. By sitting straight up and keeping good posture you are going to keep your spine in a more balanced position and eventually it will start to feel more comfortable sitting that way. The third idea that you could also try is changing your chair. If you feel that your chair is not offering you as much support as you need then you should consider buying a new one. Even though chairs are getting to be a bit expensive, it will be worth it in the long run.
Hopefully these few ideas will help improve the time that you spend at work and allow you to not become agitated while sitting there day after day.
